Late summer in Engelberg has its own kind of magic.
Some days bring blue skies and sunshine, while others see the clouds drift low between the mountains, wrapping the valley in mist and turning the landscape into something almost mysterious.
Rainy days like these are part of life in the Alps. The forests become deeper in colour, the mountains disappear and reappear behind the clouds, and everything seems to slow down just a little.
It’s the perfect weather for a quiet coffee in town, a cosy lunch, a visit to the pool or climbing wall – or simply watching the clouds move through the valley.
And that’s one of the things I love about Engelberg: you don’t need perfect weather to experience a beautiful day here.
Late summer is slowly giving way to autumn, and before we know it, these green mountains will start turning white again. 🏔️
For now, we enjoy Engelberg exactly as it is – clouds, rain and all. 🤍
